For everyday comfy, I don't really like to wear sports shoe. A matter of personal preference, I don't find Nike sports shoe as comfortable as suede leather or grain leather casual shoe. Further more, sports shoe never last as long on my feet. Maybe I'm putting my shoe into tough use (Hokkien people may say "co lo"), I always having problem with the shoe sole tearing off from my sports shoe, no matter which branded one it is.
But for shoes from the brands like Hush Puppies, Camel Active and Timberland, it's very easy to find a casual shoe which has its sole sewed to the shoebed. This reinforcement greatly enhances the lifespan of a shoe.
Let's analyze the requirements for a pair of shoes that suits my daily use:
- Accompany me to work
- Accompany me to travel
- Accompany me for badminton, if I have external meeting on the day and yet lazy to bring sport shoe
- Accompany me for outdoor activities
- Keep my feet comfortable during raining day (you know la… when it's raining in KL and PJ, water everywhere on the road could be covering my feet)
Wah looks like it's not easy being my shoe. Have to multi-task so much hehe.
This Time, Timberland
Though the pair of Camel Active shoes is still perfectly wearable, except a hole at the sole, I know I would have to look for a new pair, before it totally say good bye to me.
So yesterday, while window shopping at 1 Utama after my meeting at Mont' Kiara, I had a slightly higher priority towards outlets selling men's shoes.
Firstly Hush Puppies; though I've short-listed a pair, but still not the very much preferred one. So, continue my mission at Camel Active, and then Timberland at Parkson.
What caught my attention was the Timberland Waterproof Washington Square, which is furnished with waterproof properties that become part of the leather during the tanning process.
50 Percent Off
Well, Timberland pricing is steep though. But, what came to my surprise is that the price tag of this footwear was labeled with 50% discount!!!
Wah lao e... Timberland wo... 50% discount wo... RM499 became RM249.50 wo
Who can resist the temptation??? Holy cow, a shoe that was released early this year, is now offered at half of its price.
But, again, I was hesitating, as I doubt if my foot size is available. Luckily, probably because the sale has just started, my common sizes are still available.
Tried size 8, 8.5 and then 9, I decided to grab a pair of 8.5.
So, mission accomplished! Now I've got a pair of new grain leather shoe for work, play and fun. It's with my feet now.
